Should I sell my pony?

I think a couple of lessons from a good instructor could be useful. Do you have a local pony club to go to?

Have you had his back checked? Is he tacked up every time he's in the stable? Just a thought, but his back might be hurting somewhere? and because he's tacked up in the stable, he might be associating tack/stable with pain and that's causing him to be sharp when handling.

Or on the other hand, he could be like my first pony, he would try it on with anyone who wouldn't tell him off.. he'd bite/kick his loaner but as soon as i went and did the same, he'd stand lovely.. sometimes all they need is a good telling off and putting them back in there place!!

:)

He seems to be easier to tack up when he is tied up outside rather than in his stable

my daughter had one private lesson where he was okay (it was his first time in the school for ages) and then now she's been having regular group lessons on him, weve started off with quiet ones and he didnt put a foot wrong, and then my daughter rode him in the school not on a lesson and jumped him and he seemed to enjoy it. In some lessons he's fine, and then others he's bolted, and once he has tried to role but apart from that he seems to like the lessons. This is why i cant decide what to do. But what a lot of people have said is that when ridden he is a lot more responsive to my daughter than me, i have noticed this too, but then in the stable ect he's more respectful around me..

Sounds like behaviour problems. Saddle up outside the stable, turn out 24/7 and give him HAY.Get a instructor or very experienced person to help you. Think hes trying it on.
Obviously he doesnt like it where he is,as he had bad experiences.Cant you move him somewhere quieter???

When you say he 'bolted' did he career off in a blind panic with no thought of self preservation, or did he just get a big strong and cart her to the other horses? People have different definitions of 'bolting'!

Does his worst behaviour coincide with when he has had less work or less turnout? Can you see any pattern to when he is at his worst?

I must say if it was me I would get him out 24/7 as soon as you are able, and see how he responds in that situation before any drastic decisions.
