daft question i have some hauptner clippers they work fine 18 years old now do i carry on with them till something happens, i quite like the idea of buying their 2000 ones just cos they are probably lighter to use! - am i cranky wasting my money.

if you buy new ones its sods law that you dont like them as much and the old ones will take offence and pack in just as you deside to stick with them

I learnt to clip with Hauptners (many,many years ago), then bought my own set (which were a few years old when I got them). I used them for 20 years, when I stopped clipping other people's horses I sold them and bought cordless ones for my clipper phobic horse. Then I got a second horse, used the cordless ones on the "phobe" a few times to get him over the problem, then really regretted selling my Hauptners! So I bought some old ones on ebay... it was like putting on your favourite pair of slippers! Will keep these until they, or I, die!
