Should I separate??

Ok I introduced a new mare to my other 2 ponies 3 weeks ago....I kept them on separate sides of the fence for a couple of days first and then let them in together. All has been fine tbh,normal pecking order things,but no major scraps,just general mareishness(especially this time of year).

Now then,new girlie has a couple of minor nicks and scrapes....very minor. One of my others also has a minor scrape.

All 3 are unshod. Should I separate? Would you??

I wouldn't if they are only minor things, looks like they are starting to settle and you will only have to go through it again if you want to put them in together in the future.

No, if they're all unshod they should be ok. Just keep an eye on them. Obviously if anything escalates then you would need to separate them but it sounds really like just normal settling down together.

Personally i'd just leave them to get on with it. So long as theres no real violence that is..best of luck

Another vote for leaving them to it. They'll sort it out soon enough.
