Should I use a Monty Roberts Headcollar to load?

My daughter's pony is a little cracker in every way except loading. Having tried most suggestions several people have advised me to buy a Monty Roberts headcollar. I have mixed feelings about this as I would rather he loaded willingly as opposed to being forced to, but am in a position now where nothing else is working. Also, I have never used one so am worried my inexperience might make things worse? Grateful for your opinions x

Why don't you have a professional out to help? They can be worth their weight in gold and a fresh pair of eyes and ideas. I have a dually halter and it's a fantastic tool but I had an IH associate out to show me how to use it effectively :)
ETA I don't think using force would ever be effective with horses.

Good Luck :) I was very impressed with the lady I had out very effective results without force (not knocking other methods as I haven't used them) within 2hours was walking in and standing like a dream and still is. Had 1 further session think it was £80 in total it was a few years ago tho :)

Thanks again i've just emailed the person local to me from the link you gave me so fingers crossed! Actually would be really keen to see these methods at work anyway as always been interested in alternative methods of training but not really had opportunity to learn and apply them x

I have used a Dually for a tricky loader, and it was great, but you do have to know how to use them properly.
