should i worry?

I took my 10 year old jack russell cross to the vet yesterday and to the dog parlour.
when i took him in i said that i thought he may have some cataracts on both his eyes.
i collected him and they agreed that he had early stages of it.
So question is how long will it take for it to totally take over his eyes and anything i can do to make it go slower?

My older lab developed a cataract, she was about 5 at the time? Can't remember how long it took to develop. Unfortunately she then developed glucoma in the eye and it became ulcerated and the eye was removed. This was a worst case scenario though.

Although it now turns out she has one developing in her other eye

I'm not sure how much you can really do, but you could take said JRT to an eye specialist?
