Having read lots of posts recently where people have fallen off out hacking, i am thinking i should get insurance for myself. I ride 2 different horses, mainly hacking out and am aware that if something happens to me I am not insured but the horses are.

what do others think? I do not own the 2 horses i ride.

The horses may already be insured for others to ride?? I know mine in the UK were insured for anyone to ride and this covered liability and accident to the rider. It also covered me to ride other people's horses. Worth checking out before you go to the expense of buying your own.

why don't you join the BHS as a gold member - membership includes public liability insurance. It's what I did when I was riding for other people, I think it's a bit cheaper than getting rider insurance from a larger company.
