Shoulder injury?

My mare dips her head whilst in trot and her heel is flat whilst in trot also, after about 10 mins on the lunge or riding (in trot) her ears start to go back and she stops doing it. I'm quite sure it's a shoulder injury. The vet is coming out tomorrow but is there anything I could do?

Hi only just read this yes it was linked to torn muscles from an old injury before I got her :-(
