Well, we were at the PC champs this weekend, and looked into buying Alice shoulder pads for her BP. However,we werewonderinghow much protection they did actually offer. She'slooking to make the move up to Novice by the end of this year, and we want her to have all the protection from a fall she could have- she recently fell and seriously broke her collarbone (you could see the break just be looking at her collarbone through her skin!).

We have a T shirt that goes under the charles owen BP with internal shoulder pads, it's either a childs XL or an adults small (fits size 10) if it's of any use to you. (if we can find it of course!)

Thanks for the answers. Rosiefan- we will probably get something that amounts to shoulderpads after looking at your thread.

Thistle- do you know if it will go with a racesafe?

I bought a Rodney Powell BP with shoulder pads but I don't wear them any more as I feel they restrict me. It does mean I have to remember my medical card now though as it used to be permanently attached to the shoulder pad. They may well be worth investing in as she has broken her collar bone before.

I can easily find out as she now has a racesafe with shoulders. I'll get her to try it on without the RS shoulders.

We went down the T shirt route as at the time she had recently broken a collar bone, but all her friends thought it 'uncool' to wear shoulders. Using the T shirt was discrete but she was protected.
