Hi, I am having problems with my back again and this time with my shoulders too. I have been to see someone and she has pointed out that I need to pull my shoulders back more. After looking into it, it seems that the shoulders back would be the best thing. Anyone else tried one? They are supposed to be very good for the rider, to help with position and balance and also the spine alignment.
Thanks

I'm having terrible problem with one shoulder at the moment and having physio, she also said it's because I am inclined to 'hunch', terrible habit. Would be interested to find out what they are.

Is this it?

yes, they are supposed to be very good. It eliminates haunching. I have been told that there is hardening of the muscles at the top of my spine, and if I don`t do something to alter my posture, then in a few years, I will get an unsightly bump, which is why I am thinking of getting one.

cheeky, but seriously I have just e-mailed to see what size I need. I am going to order one. I will wear it and let you know then. If it doesn`t work, I`ll sell it to you for half price.

Also, as a word of warning, she also told me that it doesn`t help with me looking down at my laptop, as I am on it a lot, esp when lying in bed! So as I don`t look at the keyboard when I am typing, I am consiously holding my head level.

My friend suggested for me (don't know if she was being serious?) but to wear 2 or 3 bras to get me to put shoulders back?!?!?!... all at the same time..

I've got one, was going to post saying how i'd found it ages ago, but forgot, sorry! I have to say i'm not overly impressed. I hardly ever bother with it though, so it may be my own fault that i haven't felt its made much (if any) difference. You would prob get approx the same effect from wearing a sports bra backwards, that exactly what it looks and feels like to me! Sorry to be so unconvinced, although i must make the effort to ride in it regularly to give it a really fair chance.

I have one worn it once bloody uncomfortable and most people I know that have bought one have only worn it once starts to hurt after a while because you are not use to the position also someone told me that it is a false support so your muscle are not actually working it would be better if you held yourself back for 10 minutes each time you ride and then try to extend the time each day for a few months or even when you are sitting or walking to build up the muscle.

Hi Jella - I want to buy a shoulders back and thought I'd check the thread first to see what people thought. I haven't been put off the idea, but wondered if anyone fancied selling theirs if it's not being used ?
