At PC camp I was told that when I ride I tense my shoulders... Even when I physically try and relax them they still look tense, and when I put them in what was apparently the correct postion, it was really very painful
Apparently they're the same even when I'm just standing or walking (not on a horse) or sitting on a chair... It's just been troubling me, because I'm hoping to affiliate in dressage next year and this is obv going to hold me back... When I was younger I got a lot of compliments on my position and seat, but not any more, and I've seen a recent video of me riding and they're right, my shoulders look really wierd!
I have compared shoulders with my sisters, and mine are much more square than theirs, just naturally, which isn't the most cheering thing
Thing is, I have a form of arthritis that affects children, and can cause spinal problems (particularily shoulder and pelvis, but usually only in old people!!) and I am not exactly supple, I'm worried it's affecting my riding... Thanks for reading all that! Any advice? I know I sound completely paranoid but I have saved for four years to be able to afford a horse I can compete properly on, and I don't want something as stupid as shoulders losing me marks!
