Bossdog, don't go onto GSD Rescue or Many Tears, whatever you do, you will either put your fist through the computer screen or end up with 20 dogs

Ooooh, neither should I! The featured dog in the side panel of the site you linked to is a staffy called Scooby - he would match my other little barrel-shaped Scooby!

I can spend hours looking through rescue centre websites... when I used to volunteer at a rescue centre I always wanted to take all the dogs home with me.

When I have my own home and my mum isn't there to forbid me, I fear I will become a mad old dog lady with about fifty dogs.

I will probably be shot down here, but I think it would be kinder to put poor Winnie down. If she has been in rescue for 2 years she is not very likely to find a home, I am sure the kennels do their best but is that really a life for an old dog

Who has lots of land but would still be able to really guarantee that she doesn't come across a roe deer or rabbit etc?

Lots of people talk about all the well functioning dogs that is euthanized but still somebody have obviously decided that this cute looking bitch that sadly sounds as if she would eat my three ladies for breakfast, has to be able to find her forever home...

Before I got mine I visited a rescue in Kent that had a non-destruction policy. I was greeted by desperate dogs in concrete pens. Most of the dogs I equired about had bitten frequenly or had huge behavioural problems. It was so horrible to see people going around gawping these poor dogs that no one would take home... I think the line has to be drawn somwhere

That is so sad to hear about, what life does such dog have? I mean, when my late dogs got older, my vets would ask me "What quality of life does she have right now?" Why doesn't anybody ask that question for dogs like that?
