I know there have been a few threads in the last few months about shoddy customer service, and then some shouting about the great stuff.

So here's another "great service" post.

I've been trying to track down a particular item that seemed to be a bit like hen's teeth in the size I wanted. After a lengthy trawl on the internet, I eventually found one in stock at Unicorn Saddlery in Taunton. Phoned yesterday, they were lovely to deal with and the item arrived first thing this morning.

I've no connection with the company BTW :-)

Who else has had really great service this week?

I did from my dentist - new pony - not sure of background so dentist poped over 7pm on Saturday night for a quick feel to make sure there's nothing disasterous before i crack on, will book proper visit for few weeks time but first class to call in at short notice to reasure me.

I bought a sale item from Exclusively Equestrian a while back. Had a problem with paying for it on line and had a couple of attempts at the order before it went through.

Next morning they rang to ask if I really meant to order two and if not did I want a refund. The woman was absolutely lovely and refunded me straight away. When the item arrived, I noticed a price tag which meant it was further reduced, so rang them and they offered to refund the difference or send another pad as well if I wished.
Excellent customer service- and I ended up with a great bargain reduced from £185 to a mere £25. Brilliant.

I had outstanding service this week from Simple Systems - called on Tuesday afternoon to place an order, immediate text confirmation saying it was on its way and everything was neatly stacked up waiting for me when I got home yesterday, less than 24 hours later. Super.

Oh yes. me too. Emailed their feed advice line for a horse with complex needs. Got a detailed response within an hour.

Needed some new saddle cloths in a hurry and had the most amazing service from Equiport. Saddle cloths ordered on the Tues and arrived by Friday and are lovely will be going back for rug when pennies saved.

ME!!
I have been desperately looking for some good yard boots and found the absolute perfect pair in a tack shop this morning but they didn't have them in my size. The lady who worked there went to see if they could order them in, but found that the company was no longer making them so they wouldn't be restocking and couldn't order them in unless I paid upfront. So I was ready to give up because I didn't want to pay for boots I hadn't tried on, but the lady said that she had those exact boots at home in the size I wanted, so she went home, brought them back and let me try her boots on!! They fitted perfectly (and it was nice to see how they'd worn after six months of use) so I ordered a pair :D

I have never had anything other than exceptional service from Snuggy Hoods and Thermatex

English Bridles are great too - old school common sense service

I like dealing with TC Tack and Things and also Risley Saddlery on their stalls at shows, they are always very good and very helpful

Impact Equestrian is a great little company too which sells things of the 'tricky to find' sort

Bit ambiguous, this one, but had amazing service from an Ebay seller called Daisychain country supplies. They sell a lot of fence posts which have failed inspection, ie with faulty moulding on the step-in. Bought a bundle plus a free roll of electric rope. When they arrived two of the posts were totally useless as the moulding was so faulty the spikes fell out. I contacted the seller who was very nice, very polite and very apologetic and who agreed to replace when they had a new delivery. The following week they delivered not the two missing posts but a pack of TEN brand new and perfect posts.

If more small firms acted like this they would have no need to put odd threads complaining about the way they have been slated!!

The other truly excellent firms I have dealt with are the Bitless Bridle company (the one owned by someone called Sheila) Again first rate service and customer care.

A few years ago I would also have added Simple Systems to the list but I complained about a delivery of two bags of feed that were both damp and mouldy and had no offer of recompense whatsoever. I had been using them for several years by then and ordering for myself and a couple of others so was quite hurt by their attitude. I no longer use them :(

I had great service from Chelmsford farm supplies yesterday. Ordered a numnah (as well as spending shed loads on other stuff in store) and they rang this morning to check some details. Very impressed with them. Hope Valley are excellent too, as has been frequently said on here before.

I had great service from Dengie feeds recently. My horse suddenly stopped eating his usual hi-fi molasses free feed and he's not a fussy feeder. I phoned them up and they sent me a bag and freepost envelope to send them a sample for testing. A week or so later they wrote to me saying the feed wasn't up to their usual standards i.e. not the correct balance of ingredients, and they would be investigating further. They also sent me vouchers for more feed.

They handled my complaint professionally and efficiently which is all I ask for.

Horse Health have been fab - I ordered Tuesday night three numnahs Tuesday night and they've just arrived. Equiport have also been very good when I've used them.

Horse and Pony Direct, ordered 3 bags of balancer Monday evening, arrived before 11am Wednesday, free p&p as well. I'm very impressed :)

I had amazing service yesterday. I have been using keyflow feeds for about 6 weeks with the and they are in the process if setting up a wholesaler to stock my local feed room. Yesterday the feed was bought down the the feed shop personally however the shop closes on a Wednesday so it was hand delivered to my yard! Can not praise them enough for fantastic customer service and a great product which my boy looks amazing on!

I will nominate Mole Valley Farmers, who could not have been more helpful when my lorry broke down in their yard. They made a nightmare experience less awful and I am grateful.

I have ordered supplements from Aviform and GJW Titmuss - really easy to order and they both arrive very quickly. Nothing but good praise for them both and don't have to pay postage....

Premier Equine- my horse somehow attached herself to some fencing and ripped her rug to shreds to get free. completely not their fault, a freak accident, but i emailed them to let them know as wondered about the possibility of having a weak point in the clips rather than them being so robust that it is the material that gives way, and my friend said i may as well email! they said exactly what i thought- that a light weight rug is strong but not a strong as a half tonne horse and customers want robust clips. however, despite this, they gave me 40% off a new light weight as a goodwill gesture and also sent the rug with free postage, arrived in a couple of days.

it was such a massive help as did not budget for a new rug this month and now too hot for a medium weight but raining quite a bit, and did not want to find a cheaper replacement that never fits her right.

it does show how keen they are to keep customers

Youldens Equestrian. I ordered a couple of pairs of jods in their sale. One pair was sold out so the lady rang me to see what I wanted to do. One of the options was to take a much better pair of jods for an even cheaper price. Very helpful lady and I would certainly use them again.

Derby house !!!!! Having sworn I would never go there again I was trapped by a buy two for £50 rug offer email on Friday night they arrived yesterday pretty good I thought with the holiday .
Thank you derby house you are partially forgiven .

The Hoof Bootique - as a newbie to hoof boots, I was clueless and Liz painstakingly talked me through everything! Boots arrived quickly and I got a bit of a discount too. Very pleased.

Old Dairy saddlery for me - ordered four sets of multi coloured reins one evening, they rang me immediately the following day to tell me one colour were out of stock in the pony reins and did I want to wait for them to come in or choose another colour? Packed well and were delivered pretty quickly too.

Oh and the Dubarry shop in London. Not only did they let me try on some prototype boots, they took me details and rang me last week the moment the boots were officially for sale without any form of pushing for a sale.

Equestrian clearance ordered my new ariats at weekend came yesterday and better still £100 off! Chestnut feeds, they deliver in the snow!

Lovely post.

Tally Ho Farm have been great for me. Ordered a saddle from them a while back. They didnt have it in stock but ordered it in and kept me updated the whole time. When I returned the saddle they were lovely to deal with. I recently ordered another item with them and it arrived next day delivery (Which was free!)

I recently also ordered a clicker off ebay. Thumbs down to the seller who tried to get away with just whacking a second class stamp on it (particularily when i paid over double that in postage). But when I contacted him to tell him I had to pay an extra £1.20 postage and handling charge, he was very apologetic and offered a full refund (could have just done a part refund) so top marks for customer service!
