Hi, This has been asked many times before I know but I'm still confused!
I'm showing this sunday and unsure what to wear. I've done several local shows with no problems but this one is bigger and I think I need to make more of an effort to be correct! I'm 15 years old, my horse is a 15.2hh Anglo-Arab x dales (doesn't look dales) registered with arab and dales society. I'm thinking of doing riding horse, veteran (He's 19), part Arab, style and appearance and partbred horse. i Usually wear: yellow/beige shirt, coloured tie, brown gloves, green tweed jacket, brown jod boots, jod clips, canary jods. However i know for riding horse you should have navy jacket and fancy browband but I don't have a navy jacket (do have black tho?) , should I still use fancy browband with tweed? and i look stupid in short boots because my legs are so long and I'm not on a tiny pony so would i be better wearing matching leather chaps (they're ariat so look like long boots when on) TIA, sorry its so long i waffle like anything :D

For the RH class it is perfectly correct to wear tweed and for the horse to have a coloured browband, on a horse you should wear long boots, gaiters will be fine.

Riding horse is not a class just for horses that happen to be ridden. They are a set type with a set way of going.
Is your horse really a riding horse? Most dales crosses do not have the movement or type for the riding horse classes.
If he is the right type then tweed jacket is correct and you should always wear long black boots on horses

Exactly as conniegirl says. Tweed jacket not navy, and if you don't have long boots, short boots and gaiters are acceptable. But again Riding horse is a definite type, should have long, flowing, easy paces and should be able to carry the judge with manners and without having to use strong aids.

Riding Club and Workers are excellent if you horse isn't a particular type but main thing is go out and enjoy yourself
