im entering a class at my local show-the show is affiliated showing but the class i want to do doesnt award points,my pony is registered so i assume i can enter?? its called the best horse/pony to hunt with local pack- my pony will be in plain brown tack and a wilkie snaffle.
i will be in a hacking jacket and short brown boots with brown leather gloves and show cane. spurs or no spurs??????
can someone recommend a good 'show' for this type of class and as my pony is a new forest, do i leave un-plaited or do i have to plait as i intend to enter other classes.

Your turnout sounds fine, though on a New Forest the ideal is to wear long black boots (don't worry if you don't have any). If you've got a brown whip or hunting whip it would look better for this type of class. If your pony is untrimmed I'd go with the natural m&m look, especially if you're doing other m&m classes.

Yes, you can enter whether your horse is registered or unregistered unless it says otherwise.

Gosh. Well the pony should be the type to be ridden by all members of the family and should be fairly bombproof. In the past I have had to get off over my pony's bum and get back on the wrong side, and jump a fence and stop in a box about 5 strides afterwards. You could be asked anything really. Sorry that doesn't really help much.
