I dont know if im asking the impossible but i am looking for a show cob for showing classes would prefer a maxi cob if possible but anything 15.1 plus i have up to £3k the less the better.

Dont mind it being a bit green and young... However i dont want a rearer or anything that bites kicks or bolts...

:-) Hope i find something soon.. xxx

Builth wells cob sales could be the place to go, they sell plenty of stunning, well bred show cobs, they have a sales in May and October, so you just missed one and the other is not for a while.
You could look on the welsh cob stud websites or contact them direct, they sometimes show their stock for sale

These are fairly large show cob breeders

So many more, but may be worth calling them :)

Those are welsh breeder...(in my opinion) something completely different to a maxi cob.

Dont go to Lynn Russell - She tried to sell me one as 15.1 that was clearly 15.3+, (no height cert) This was about a year before she got recalled for measuring surprisingly enough - i know she has a good reputation but my experience wasnt too great allbeit it was a nice (just nice) horse - not saying she did it on prupose but no way was that horse only 15.1

Try....

and keep trying horsequest, they have new ones on all the time (look on the traditional / allrounder pages under the cob section not just show cobs - nothing a set of clippers cant sort out! :D)

Well OP said a show cob at first, preferably a maxi cob. Now some of these breeders have larger ridden cobs also, it could be a good starting point, I am aware of the OP thanks.
Also alot of these section D stallions I have personally seen at the royal welsh are around 15hh
I cannot think of the breeder I would like who has large ridden show cobs, I can see them, you could class them as maxi as they tend to be 15hh or so.
Anyway, I was just trying to be a helpful starting point!

Found it! Maesmynach cobs, thats it...

What sort of age are you looking for?

I don't know where you are based but Emma Hinckley sometimes has nice cobs, ClipClop Traders I think she sells under, Kent/East Sussex way.

i also think that because a cob is a type not a breed, then u less likely to find specific websites for them like breeders sites. U do get cob dealers (i.e. Charlie Clothier / Lynn Russell etc... but not sure what the quality is like as they are selling to make a profit at the end of the day which means they are buying very cheap)

Keep looking round, dont overlook hairies as they can be clipped and poss try looking for an irish draught website as lots of good top show cobs are part or pure ID

Good luck and post piccies when youve found the one!

Thank you Moggy for your help :-).. Just having a look now...

Roscoe thank you too ill keep looking hopefully i can find something i like horsequest has some lovely horses but silly prices.. xx

Yes they are lovely but all welsh breeders looking for a nice solid show/maxi cob! Thanks :-P xxx

Yes they are welsh breeders, but they do have different types at some of these studs, but anyway, I have found the link I was looking for, and you have it, maesmynach, perhaps your more precise requirements
Just trying to give you a starting point, sometimes it is worth a phone call to these people, to then get a recommendation for what your looking for, seeing as your struggling to find what you want

Give Charlie Clothier a call, she'll almost deff have what you want, if you ask her for a rough and ready one she'll do that for you or a very green one, PM me if you want her number.

Don't know if this is the kind of thing you are looking for, I just looked on horsedeals for "cobs"!

I like his little pink nose :)

Don't know if you are looking for anything coloured, I don't know much about cobs or showing. Have you checked out horsemart, horse and hound etc?

I know the 2nd one!!

Sorry XD Clicked on it and was like :o I know that horse!OR rather knew it....but anywho lol!

I'll keep an eye out :)

I also think Lynn Russell will be out of your price range. IMO her cobs are well over priced for what they are....

Not sure if you've thought about travelling further afield but this chap always seems to have some nice youngsters on his site although I'm not sure what his prices are like. I had a video of one a few years back and I had the same price tag as you so he may have something to suit

Good luck with your search!
