With all this talk of horses being 'fat' in the show ring I wondered what you think 'show condition' is? So I've got some pics here for you to judge. They are not the best but give you an idea.

A) 15.1HH traditional cob

C)15.2HH Ladies Hunter

Only have the one pic of her as she was pts 3 years ago.

My thoughts are, A is too fat, has an emormous bottom, real apple shaped, big stomach and crest. I wouldn't show him in this condition.
B Is perfect, nice bottom not to big a belly and well muscled.
C is too fat, neck and stomach are huge and she doesn't look in proportion.

A) Too Fat.
B) Nicely muscled, wouldn't want to carry anymore weight.
C) Too Fat

Just MHO, so please don't be offended if you diasgree.

Personally I think they're all too fat (please don't shoot me!), although B is less fat than the others and wouldn't be too hard to get the weight off although I expect a showing judge would really like A and C and say B was too thin! Just judging from personal experience, it depends what you want to do with them really, if they're only in light work then it won't harm them to be a bit overweight although personally I'd like to see them a bit thinner.

I don't understand why showing judges would prefer overweight horses, surely they would like to see fit and well muscled horses?
