When I bought my horse (in Ireland), the seller said he had a half-brother doing well in show hunter classes in England. (May or may not be true!!) Does anyone know how I can find out about Show Hunter breeding? I googled the sire and dam of my fella but could only find a half-brother (same dam but by Tassett) who had done quite well eventing. My lad was born in 2010 and is by the TB sire 'Insatiable' out of ISH 'Carriglen Bard' by 'The Bard', dam and her foals all bred in Co. Wexford. I rang his breeder who didn't know much as he always sells his youngstock as foals.
Any idea how to look up Show Hunter winners dams or breeders would be appreciated. Thank you

Tassett is a prolific show hunter sire. A firm favourite with Robert Walker who has had much success with horses by the stallion.

If you google the entries for the big shows you will see the entries and they will have breeding recorded.

I'm assuming, as a half-brother, it would be out of Carriglen Bard, the dam of my horse. She has several foals by Tassett before she was covered by Insatiable and had my lad, and I'm assuming it might be one of them. But linking up the UELN numbers (all that's in ISH breed books unless breeder names them with his prefix) to actual names of the horses is proving impossible.
I am trying to get on 'Horse Gossip' - (Id never heard of that) have yet to be approved, will try googling 'show entries'. Thanks-its only out of interest, my fella is such a kind lovely lad, and Id be interested to see pics of his siblings :)

Ill have a look at my HOYS programe from this year if you want? Alot of the horses in their do have the breeding in it! Will have a look tonight when I get home

Thatd be great,Carrots and Mints- I was told he won at HOYS but surely that mustv been an exaggeration!!!!! I don't know much about show hunter at all, but itd be M/W or H/W I would guess, as my chap is 16.3 with 9 1/2in bone.
