Hi all

I hope you can give me some advice or suggestions! I am planning to compete my horse this year, just locally in some unaffiliated jumping and dressage. I have also been asked to compete a friends horse in some dressage too. I am really keen to do this and the prospect of finally getting my lovely girl out to some competitions is really exciting but there is one major sticking point that is really getting me down, and that is my complete inability to find a show jacket to fit me!!

I am thinking navy as it would be smart, and i personally prefer it to black. The problem is, I have ridiculous boobs. I have a smallish waist, normal shoulder and really long arms! I have tried loads on off the peg and from friends, a size 16 wont do up over my boobs comfortably, it looks like the buttons would pop off if i moved, but the shoulders are too wide and stick out like i have big shoulder pads in! Also tried an 18 but it was far too long for me and again shoulder and waist gaped and it looked horrible and shapeless. I usually wear a 12 or 14 top depending on the style and i avoid anything with buttons as i always have this issue but cant avoid it with a jacket!

I have looked at the made to measure ones like equiport etc and they are beautiful but way out of my budget. I am thinking maybe i could buy a jacket from a tack sale or ebay, too big i.e a size 18 and then go to someone who does alterations and ask them to alter it, make she shoulders and waist smaller? Has anyone ever done something like this?? I'm sure i cant be the only person with this problem....
