As there is a lack of posts I'll leap in the unknown and make one of this season so far with my new horse, Larry.
For the last couple of years I've owned a lovely horse, Zack, but who for the life of me I couldn't get to jump clear, despite jumping fab in lessons. It gradually deteriorated with him stopping and me getting him checked out and it turns out he has wobblers. In fact its got so bad I cant even ride him now. So firstly here's a photo of him, just because he's beautiful.

After I realised I wasn't going to be able to jump him again and also after several falls from him I purchased another horse, before I lost my nerve jumping altogether. Now I fell on my feet here as I had loaned him 3 years ago for a year and the owners asked for silly money so I gave him back and bought Zack. However, they noticed I was looking again and asked if I was still interested and it was a definite yes, as not only was he now much cheaper but he was more experienced and at 9yrs in the prime of his life (hopefully). I also obviously new him and after trying a couple of unsuitable horses it was a great relief to buy something I knew was very nice.
So after beginning our campaign at the end of January this year we have done quite a few shows now and have won nearly £80 BS. The best thing is that he rarely touches a pole which after regularly having 4 down is such a mighty relief. My first outdoor show was about a month ago and we won the 90cm open in style. I was so chuffed.

I then entered our first 1m and promptly gone eliminated at fence 3 (first stop was me holding onto him and strangling him and second stop was him gawping at the photographer) ! How quickly my ego is burst !!
Marching onto our next show he jumped a super double clear in the 80cm and then almost in the 95cm except numpty here turned him too tight into the last fence and he stopped for 4f.
Our next show he didn't jump so great as he was sticky. However, he had half pulled his shoe off in the trailer and had stood on his toe clip so am pretty sure he was a bit sore. He seems to be recovered from that now so our next show is this coming weekend in which I hope to do the 85cm as a warm up and then the 95cm.

This is one of the sticky jumps - it was six strides to this fence but he was a stride off it but took off anyway.

And another nice one to finish off on

Hopefully that wasn't too boring, I'm not great at expressing myself and I hope that the photos turn out and not too big or too small !
