Show jumping jackets

I've decided to take the plunge and get myself up to date with a new jacket for show jumping. How tight fitted should these new stretch jackets be? I've tried a few on and found that if they don't fit tight you end up looking like a creased sack of spuds

The technical jackets are quite tight. I can't comment on the sack of spuds bit but they fit far closer than a traditional jacket does. They are a bit less forgiving to the occasional lumpy bit too!
