I feel the cold and am hoping to do some indoor SJ this winter and was wondering if anyone could recommend me a long-sleeved showjumping shirt that is warm and comfortable? Preferably white.

Thanks!

What a good idea Abacus, thanks for that!

However if anyone does have any long-sleeved SJ shirt recommendations (warm) so that you only have to wear the one layer under your jacket, I would still very much be interested in hearing them.

Thanks!

If you have lots of Short Sleeved ones you could just put a long sleeved thermal baselayer underneath - I feel your pain, I also feel the cold:)

Thanks showpony, so sorry to hear you feel the cold too (I always thought it was me being so pathetic - I used to live in Kenya and I think my blood has thinned!!!). Interesting to see that you are the second (clever) person to recommend the base layer option, thank you.

Just as a matter of interest, are there any nice long-sleeved SJ shirts out there?

Thanks JustKickOn. I like the look of the Musto one, in white as you say, if it can be found. Clever you for knowing about it. Really appreciate the help. We are so lucky having this forum. Thanks again. If you happen to find it in white, do let me know won't you. Tx!

Great thinking Abacus. Thanks so much for taking the trouble to find the links for me, I am really grateful. Quick question/comment (forgive me if you think it silly), I didn't realise hunting shirts were the same as SJ shirts, I thought with SJ shirts you had to have the round half an inch sticking up from the neck bit (I am not explaining myself very well) whereas hunting shirts are more like "grand-dad shirts) around the neck which you covered with a stock, but if you are right, it's great to know. Thanks again.

Ahhh, now you are stretching my knowledge by quite a long way... You are probably right - I was assuming that if you wear a stock, no one will know the difference between this and a normal show shirt anyway. But if you weren't planning on wearing a stock then the hunt shirt might not look right (I don't know much about SJ dress codes, obviously!).

I only do unaffiliated SJ and to be honest I don't see many stocks being worn these days. But that is a way out of the quandry - wear a hunting shirt and a stock. Plus the stock would keep my neck snuggy too! Thanks again for the help Abacus, certainly this is one good solution.
