Show me your chestnuts! Black or Brown tack?

Oh man! I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread as I love ginger horses and was convinced I was going to get one this time round, infact nearly did if he had not deposited me at the viewing.
FWIW I'd have gone for brown tack.
 
Brown is prettier, black easier to resell if you think you may need to upgrade your saddle at some point. Or maybe fashion has turned but brown saddles were definitely the minority about 10 years ago
Brown has always been traditional. Black may be easier to resell as it’s often a cheaper quality leather, l can’t recall black ever being a majority choice unless for a specialized activity. Well cared for quality tack will sell more easily than inferior brands, black tends to fade over time.

Oh interesting. It definitely was when I was changing saddles frequently about 10-15 years ago in Surrey. Agree on known, well accepted long standing names for resell, like Jeffries, ideal, gfs etc etc maybe not so much 3-4k fashion saddles but I probably also don't move in big money circles
