had to clip the cobs feathers yesterday, she had some scratches that needed treating. I’m not keen to hog her, but she seems a bit top heavy or something now. Show me your cobs with clipped legs and a mane vs hogged pls help me decide 🥰

Very appropriate post as I’m not far off fully clipping and hogging! Mainly because the mane is split and sits on two different sides and is driving me mental, also because the bottom half rubbed out in winter and won’t grow back. I also just fancy doing something radical lol but seeing it go may make my heart stop. He always had clipped legs as cpl but came with feather (photo included)

When he was younger and fitter he had a short mane which is very cool looking but only if it had tonnes of product on it..it just stood upright most of the time!!

About 6 months, He was last hogged early November I think, started to look presentable again around may time 😂
When up for quite a while before it finally fell over, this was early March. Very spikey.

Lovely boy!
That’s definitely something to think about. If it stands up I’m officially hogging 😂 although after all that effort! I’d be cross 😂

I’ve gone the other way. Wig arrived clipped and hogged but I’ve grown it back. I liked the hog but I don’t think he was quite cobby enough for it (his old owner did is as she has arthritic hands and couldn’t plait) and I prefer something to hold onto if I need it! Here are photos of him in both states (although his legs need a clip in the photo with mane, he’s normally feather free although as you can see they’re not huge).
