I've sent you the article Amirah, your coating on your saddle may be something like Fiebings Tan Coat, I use it now and again to finish off products and keep them looking nice for longer. It should come off eventually with cleaning if you are lucky or use a de glazer, here's tan coat

Wrapped calfskin saddles should only ever be treated with the conditioner recommended by the supplier, thicker English butt leather as you find on many English made saddles, will lap up Oz's conditioner, but for very fine, glued/laminated leathers I would stick to what they recommend. I use, sell and recommend Oz's conditioner for our saddles but with continental saddles you must take great care.
