also what is best way to thin and shorten mane of horsie , approx 10 inches long at moment .
doesnt really like too much fussing around mane , so dont think she will like to get mane pulled ?!!!

im hoping my expert mane friend will do it for me .
Once her mane is the right thickness, how to shorten ?? pull ?
or does anyone trim with scissors at all ??? I know that is strictly no no , but i know some people like the scissors look .

Just wondering .

xxxx

You can't really see her tail plait , but it's the best I have.

Millie was plaited for the first time on Monday. I don't plait very often so they are far from perfect!!

(photo was taken at the end of the day so plaits were looking even more worse for wear!)

I tend to trim Millie's mane with scissors as I know she wouldn't let me pull it. Her mane is quite thin though so I think that helps

This is her mane before trimming

This was Sally this season, mane is thick so I pull it over a couple of sessions. I use scissors if the mane is thin, but cut upwards rather than across the mane. Her tail is also thick so I pull more in each plait so it doesn't look too bottom heavy.

This is my two, plaits are always sewn in, grey mare has a pulled tail, and the bay filly has it plaited until shes 4.

Plaits are a little fluffy - they were done at 10pm the night before, and we left at about 5.30am

Genie done up to show as a cob... She's Welsh D so when we go in a cob class and not a M&M class I do a running plait down her main, and then plait and bang her tail up to show her how she would be hogged and docked. Pro photos so have had to link. You can't see her mane (all the photos were from the wrong side!) But this shows her tail a bit.

Tnavas - your clydesdale is gorgeous.

Thank you I love her to bits - people at the parade kept asking what she was crossed with and were quite stunned when I said full old fashioned breed Clydesdale minus the hair. She has a full mane and feather now
