After having a great first three weeks with my new horse Taisy a 15HH welsh D mare, I am keen to see pictures of others welshies. Apparently I am welsh D compatatble as this is the second welsh I have really clicked with. Do you think they really are like marmite ie love em or hate em.

This is moses - not a show quality D but we love him!!

He can turn a hoof to anything!!

:( Don't know how to post pics

I find mine can be pig headed (LOL), and trys his hardest to do as little as possible. But when he wishes to conform and work with me he is a really lovely chap (he's only 15.1hh but most people say if he was any bigger you wouldn't be able to do anything with him, which I would agree with, as he is 'strong willed' to put it mildly) . I would say mine wasn't a traditional Welsh d though, hes slighlty lighter (IMO)
:D

I LOVE Welsh Ds, but I do know a lot of people that don't like them. You have to have a certain personality I think!

My gorgeous Miss Congeniality...

She's such a versatile little horse. She'll be 6 next week and is 15hh, and just takes everything in her stride!

This is my rather cheeky Sec D cross (registered WPB) yearling! I'm going to have fun with him!!!!.......... (ooeeerrrr!!!) the laidback chestnut in the clip is a warmblood yearling!

And please don't worry about the dog, she was more interested in wanting to keep her stick than of him!!

Hah...you don't have to ask me twice!!

Phillip. 10 years. 15.2hh. very green which is all my fault but we are enjoying ourselves :) Too fat atm, but considering he was over 700kg in may 2008 think we're not doing too bad :)

They are definitely Marmite horses and I love them. I WILL get another one day.:D I don't have any digital ones of him in his prime, I will get round to scanning all his earlier photos one day. He preceeded the digital age;)

Cant post a pic as at work but I have a 15hh Welsh D and I adore him. He is stubborn, lazy, opinionated, cheeky and too nosy for his own good...but a loyal friend who learns very quickly and has the most wonderful personality ever...I would not swop him for the world and definately have another if anything happened to him.

Not mine, but brought him on at work and sold him (cried when he left as he was just a complete super star!!!)

9yo, got gelded at 8!! And just super duper looking

He looks a bit scraggy in these as this was prior to washing! :)

Cassiieeee :) 14 y/o welsh D mare, about 14.2hh. Outgrown welshies now though but she gave me the best riding days ever! She's out on loan now to a girl doing pony club etc.

Not sure they are marmite really... but think it would be a great name for one! I loved (and still do) my old welsh D. I was given him by a family friend who bought him for £50 at auction. he'd been badly beaten and for the next 17 years carried the scars of it on his bum. :( I taught him to jump, I hunted him, we did everything, including beating Oli Townend at PC area eventing!! And when I was told not to ride for 8 weeks after a knee op, I hopped on bareback and walked round and he was an absolute saint!

The first pic is his first hunter trial (both aged 11), the second one is at the hunt ride (both aged 13) and the third and fourth ones are about a month before he died last year aged 28.

rest in peace my friend. forever in my heart, and all those who loved you.

Any excuse to show my chap. Have had him since a foal and wouldn't swap him for the world.
I love the fact that he will turn his hoof to anything.
