Ash is hoping crack on with Ben's schooling over the winter/early spring with the aim of getting him out showing over the Summer.

Some people have already said that he will be at a disadvantage due to his colour but it's all about experience for us.

We are after a show name for him - the name on his passport is Big Ben but we aren't keen on it lol

This is Ben - he's 11 years old and 17hh:

Also, any tips on colours of tweed, tack etc and classes to enter? It's just local level showing.

I know he will need to be plaited as he's a part bred (ID x TB) but not sure on the other requirements.

Thanks :)

He can do hunter, working hunter, riding horse, riding club classes at local level, the colour should not go against him really but you may have to work a little harder to get everything right to look the part.
He needs his tail sorted out, it should be pulled and trimmed to just below his hocks.
A smart plain hunter bridle with double or pelham, you can use a velvet browband if doing riding horse.
Rider in a smart tweed jacket for all classes, a green tweed would look good, navy hat, shirt and tie.

Not sure about names, I agree that Big Ben is somewhat uninspiring, I named my big palomino Flash of Light so maybe something along those lines, Golden Light, Bright Light, Shades of Light, Autumn Colours.

hes a lovley colour he would probley catch the eye of the judge in riding horse class, he could also do riding club horse and hunter classes.

not sure on many names but here is a few;

The golden compass.
golden arrow.
Going Platinum
Best Man Ben
Bit of gold.
Show me the money.

theres a few lol! :D
