never thought i'd ask for help on this one, but I am utterly stuck, it seems I can only come up with good names for other people's horses... and I need distracting.
my homebred Daisy is about to start going out in public, and has no posh name on her passport. she's by Fleetwater Opposition, so I guess Opposition ________ or, ________ Opposition would be a good start. dam was ______ (stud name) Rosie.
I've thought of Dazed Opposition but it's a bit too... presumptious? considering she absolutely can't see the point of flatwork at the moment, I doubt the opposition is going to be dazed at all... ;) ;)
Also considering Opposition Daisele (means "permission to launch" in some bizarre language in a Manga book I read once!) which is very apt since this is the one who launched me so disastrously... not sure I can face explaining it all the time though.
she's a feisty opinionated butty little madam, Daisy doesn't suit her at all, so nothing sweet!
Hopeful Opposition? That's a bit... nothing, isn't it?
I love clever names, e.g. The Norfolk Broad (event mare by Broadsword, a few years back) really loved that name. Needs to make it clear that she's a mare too, ideally.
It needs to be very easy to pronounce, at a glance, because commentators get so flummoxed by my surname that if the horse's name is tricky they tend to have a meltdown. One particularly memorable one was "Al The Chemist" (for The Alchemist) which I could barely believe!
all suggestions, other than 'just call her Daisy fgs' gratefully received.
Aero bubbles and tea on offer, because that's my lunch. still trying to overdose on chocolate to cure my misery.

Random, so please excuse the mutterings of a mad woman...

Crazy Daisy is a pattern by Portmerion pottery... Crazy Opposition?

Dam is Rosie? Opposition Rising? (Rose, Rise, rising...?)

I'm rubbish at this...
:(

I'm glad someone likes Al The Chemist, I was most offended, because The Alchemist was 1 of my clever names (by Goldfella, out of Feet First), I was quite chuffed with that one!

I don't want anything Rising because it sounds as if it's by Primitive Rising, I like how you're thinking though.
not sure about Crazy anything, hopefully her nuttyness is behind her and she's a reformed character... *prays*

Innocent Opposition

the meaning of daisy (as in the flower) is innocence so tongue in cheek as she's decked you in the past!

Designer Opposition, Spring Opposition, Opposition Bloom.....hmmm Im rubbish at this!

Iv just bought a 2year old whose name is .....(stud name) Perfection, Im hoping its not going to become some ironic commentators curse! Bet they have some fun with it! ;)

On perhaps the 'Days' theme,

Opposition Days out
Opposition Oh my Days
Opposition Daybreak
Opposition Daytona

Film Stars: -

Opposition Doris Day/Daisy Lowe/Daisy Duke

Or reversing it Todays Opposition

Or Opposition Bellis Perennis which is latin for English Daisy, Bellis meaning beautiful/pretty and Perennis meaning occurring every year over a period of two years or more, which hopefully her event career will, if she decides she likes this flatwork malarkey.

I'll go away now and hang my head in shame :D

Political Opposition?
Opposition Mortician - that is a joke BTW!
Opposition Repetition
Opposition Limited Edition
Opposition Missionary Position - another joke!
Opposition Apparition
Opposition Demolition - another joke!

haha Lec, nice ones!
must admit someone very naughty did suggest Opposition of the Month but I'm not that daring... ;) ;)

Aces_High, I wish I'd called her Trout or Minx or Bint or something, then she'd probably have been a little angel! to be fair she's lovely with people now but she's a totally dominant baggage with other horses, and was a bit of a horror as a 2 yr old, ugh.

Opposition Withcraft or Bitchcraft, depending on how much she has tested you that day.

I saw an ad in the H & H once for a lovely mare called The Wicked Witch, thought that was a good name and appropriate for a few we have had :)

Opposites Attract
Oppositions Daughter
Opposition Daccord
Lady of the Opposition
Opposition Party Girl
In the Face of Opposition
Facing the Opposition

Am I being stupid not being able to understand Opposition of the Month?!! Please explain - sore foot is hindering my brain!

I am with you on the Trout/Minx/Bint names.... Mine is an angel with people too until she has a 'moment' and dances on her hind legs for a while. She's a complete Tom Boy and should be a bloke. Daisy is like a colt out in the paddock as well - complete thug. When she screams she sounds like a colt as well. Delightful.... Maybe we should pair them up - they can compare notes on bitchy behaviour!! I call mine Splodge It most of the time - when she's good she's Daisy!

Which magazine used to have that feature? Or am I barking up the wrong tree!!

No, that's where I was coming from!! One of the trashy girl mags had a 'position of the month' feature, can't remember the name, was around when I was an older teenager
