Hi im getting a new pony and hes called wizard but we are trying to figure out a show name for him anyone got any ideas

You are normally stuck with the name in the passport - although some PIOs allow you to change the name for a fee. If there is no name in the passport of course you can pick what you want and just pay to have the name overstampted which is usually cheaper than changing it. Outside of that you can pretty much call him whatever you want on the day as long as you only go unaffilliated and don't intend to try to qualify for any amateur series or compete affilliated; but once you get to the point of having to prove who he is you are left only with the passport name.
Probably the first thing to check is whether there is a passport name at all and then if the passport is ussed by a PIO that allows a change of name and how much that is going to cost you. Some of them are surprisingly expensive!
