Hiya,

Thought i'd share these photos from our show today. It was Kington Agricultural Show and wow... What a nightmare!! The whole showground was just mud, they'd been driving tractors/cars over it all week i think!! It was just disgusting. Such a shame as it made it such an unpleasant place to be, we didnt even walk around the show as we usually do as it was just minging!!

Anyway, random pics, enjoy!!

2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate, UNA B!

Lovely pics, how did you get on? Our big one last year was a bit of a mire in the car park, bit of a wrench getting the dogs ready then having to walk them through a mudbath to get to the ring!

That brown lab is huge =[ As is the pug =[ Oh dear =[

Excuse me?? Dont be so rude!!!

The "brown lab" has recently had 10 puppies and is in fantastic shape despite somewhat hanging udders!! The pug is a bit on the heavy side having just had a season and being somewhat bloated but being a very wide, deep girl she is not "huge" by any means. She certainly did well enough winning a class of 25 entries at her last championship show - under an all rounder who specialises in gundogs ;) Her movement is perfect, she is very fit and healthy.

With all due respect FH, we've all seen Una's pics of her dogs hooning around on long walks in the countryside, I wouldn't class them as obese or unfit!

All breeds have a standard. All judges should judge to that standard. If Una's dogs were incorrect size/height/weight/shape/soundness they would not consistently do well in the ring. She health tests her dogs and is a responsible breeder/owner and is to be commended.

We got RBOB with the "brown lab", 2nd with the black pup, a 3rd i think with the pug and BOB and G4 with the basenji :D (At least she's not overweight, hey? lol!)

Thank you!

Yes, my dogs are proven show dogs and also produce pups who have gone on to be very successful working dogs. They are real allrounders and whilst the lab is not in the best shape she's ever been in (who is a few months after raising 10 babies???lol) she is looking pretty damn good!! And the pictures of the pug moving say it all, her movement is better than 99% you will see in the ring, she is very correct and sound :)

No need to be so rude yourself! As explained in NL earlier, there are often back stories that make the photos explainable. Now that I know about the pups/season, clearly they're fine - BUT I stand by my comment that, in the photo, they look fat - to someone that doesnt know about the pups and season.

Ok?!

I have no idea what was posted in NL. If you were concerned about the condition of my dogs there are more appropriate ways to word it than:

"That brown lab is huge =[ As is the pug =[ Oh dear =[ "

That is incredibly insulting and RUDE. I have every right to be annoyed and offended with that.

I think you can even see, although its not a brilliant pic, in the bum shot of the choc lab she clearly has a nicely defined waist. She has a very hanging belly, not much i can do about that! But she is in good shape.

Thats great then. Cant see it personally in photos (but looking on laptop that wont zoom in so cant look too close for details). But I'm sure you're right. Like I said, we'll agree to disagree!

FH I know you've been having a tough time, but everyone here has been very supportive of you and complimentary about Chloe.
Try and think about how you come across to people sometimes.

The chocolate bitch has quite clearly just come off a litter if you look closely, she is carrying no excess weight anywhere else.
I don't know enough about pugs but they are a deep-chested breed.

I can understand sometimes why people don't want to post pictures.

(X-post with Una)

I agree CC. I understand not everyone will know (or tell from the pics) the bitch has just recently had a litter but a polite post along the line of "is she a bit on the heavy side" is a lot less insulting than "your dog is huge :( :( oh dear :( :( ".
