Well I took my two youngsters out in hand today for their first outing.
Welsh sec A in mountain and moorland was very good for his first time. He is a stallion and very vocal but didn't disgrace himself too much. However I took my eye if him for a second and he pulled back and sliped his bridle!!
cue much cantering around the ring showing off for 10 minutes before being caught and me beating a hasty and very embarrased retreat from the ring.
To say a lesson learnt is an understatement and his bridle will from now on be plaited fimly into his mane.
my other two year old who was unhandled until 5 weeks ago (not even a headcollar on ever the previous owners used to lasoo him to catch him!) was an angel and stood to be bathed and plaited but was totally outclassed as it was an Equifest qualifier.
