Well I took my two youngsters out in hand today for their first outing.

Welsh sec A in mountain and moorland was very good for his first time. He is a stallion and very vocal but didn't disgrace himself too much. However I took my eye if him for a second and he pulled back and sliped his bridle!!

cue much cantering around the ring showing off for 10 minutes before being caught and me beating a hasty and very embarrased retreat from the ring.

To say a lesson learnt is an understatement and his bridle will from now on be plaited fimly into his mane.

my other two year old who was unhandled until 5 weeks ago (not even a headcollar on ever the previous owners used to lasoo him to catch him!) was an angel and stood to be bathed and plaited but was totally outclassed as it was an Equifest qualifier.

anyway pics from today -

Ish the little angel

He looks very good even if he did a houdini! TBH I am sure everyone else was glad it wasnt them but hey thats horses!

My friends first outing to a posh dressage competition or exit with her horse tanking off across alll the pretty flowers and smashing them to pieces! She was so embarrassed! But we had a good laugh about it afterwards............

Lol not good is it happened to us with our sec stallion too we also now firmley plait on the bridle and halter big creast small ears not good well done though i thought he didnt look out classed at all hun hes gorg x

thank god I'm not the only. I felt a bit of an idiot as I was holding his empty bridle and he was careering round the ring!!

I had to smile - it hanse with Welshies!
I was at a driving rally when total novice owners turned up with their new pony, which was a section B stallion.
He shook his bridle off and proceeded to try and mount a mare both were attached to carts at the time!
Numpty owners were still sat in the cart and he was hauling on the reins for control but the bit was down around the pony's chest!
