Hi
Have a grey entered for a show pony class should I do quarter marks or not I see all bay and black ponies have them so I’m not sure you will see them on the grey

It depends if you feel the pony needs their hind quarters enhancing or not. Depending on what marks you create can make or break a good back end.

you will see the effects of the quarter marks whether you 'see' the marks themselves or not. for example the shark teeth on the thigh emphasize the thigh muscles - if your pony is already well muscled in that area it can make them look a little like a body builder. The squares/diamonds (some do 'shark teeth' triangles here too) on the rump help enhance the roundness of the bottom, but if not done well could make the rump look sloped or an odd shape. It's all about optical illusion.

I'd play around at home and see what works and what doesn't. If you not happy with what you produce then don't present your pony with the marks.
