Hey guys!
So I rode a Showing Show today (a team qualifier). I came 2nd in Show Hack even though my boy decided to be a berserker in the individual test (he fly bucked me out of the walk), the judge really liked him despite the fact that he is as woolly as a yak (it's winter here and he's a welshie, he always ends up looking like a ball of fluff) and only 14hh (In a Junior class that probably averaged at about 16.2hh), it probably gave him an advantage; he must have stood out like a sore thumb ^_^
With my 2nd I qualified for the Championship round (which is for the Show Hack, Show Riding and Show Hunter horses that placed 1rst or 2nd) but I decided to scratch as today was extraordinarily hot for a winter day (30 degrees celcius) and my boy was soaked with sweat (his welshie winter coat's fault
)
My friend, who was in the same class, is royally ticked at me for placing 2nd as she placed 4rth with a near perfect test (but admittedly her horse doesn't have the best conformation). This made me feel a bit guilty of course, for placing well even with obvious faults in our test
Oh well, it was a growing experience
And of course my mum caught Goldie's buck on tape before the camera's batt. died, so I'll share it with you awesome people
(just for a good laugh)
