Well, the HHO vibes sort of worked; I had an inexplicable blonde moment with PF in the 80cm class, jumped the wrong fence and got eliminated

BUT then I finished the course and she was clear, so that was good. I planned to hack round but ha HA HAAA, PF had other plans and we went a bit quick in places

I realised I was heading to the wrong fence when I was about a stride away, so too late to stop, I yelled "No no no NO, what a fecking IDIOT!!!" much to the merriment of the crowd who kept quoting it at me

Antifaz was brilliant in the 90cm class! I wasn't sure how the brakes and steering would be, so decided that if the steering didn't work I'd go wide but fast and if it did then I'd cut all the corners (very twisty course!) and take it steady. In the event the steering WAS working and we cut a VERY tight corner to number 9 and he jumped it from a walk. We were clear and went into first place... only to get pipped to the post by the next rider, who of course was a KID!!

I was very, VERY pleased with him and was congratulated later for my gutsy nip in to 9 and it made up for getting eliminated.

Ah, that's fab. Well done and glad you made up for it in the second class. We all do silly things like that, at least you amused the crowd!

I did somethig similar last week - T did a lovely clear round, only to get eliminated in the jump off as the numpty rider got lost and jumped the wrong fence, but like you I'd committed so had no choice!

I'm not a big jumping fan but I went today too and the buzz you get from doing a good round is great, have a good time tomorrow.

Well done - you are much braver than me - I do the stressage and let a much younger rider do all the stuff that involves leaving the ground!
