Following on from Ravenwoods shooting report, I thought I'd post a Show one! Feel free to add to it, we don't show much so will never have much to write about!

Went to the Dart Vale & South Pool Harriers dog show day, at the point to point course at Buckfastleigh, and the sun shone and it was hot! No rain at all, what a miracle, of course, we were all overdressed and I think the neoprene wellies were overkill! I went with a friend whose been showing my lurcher Finn recently. Finn won his class on each day at Chatsworth National Lurcher Championships last weekend, essentially he is a pet so showing is just for fun. I took him in the under 23" smooth dog today, and he won in a biggish class, I was pleased as punch as he went well for me, Carol has been working hard to get him used to showing. Sadly, it went to pot a bit in the Championship and we weren't place, but we had a nice day. Carol was delighted with her big rough coated girl, she is 11 months old and was 2nd in the puppy and her size class, again big classes.

So anyone else been showing their dogs recently? We have another lurcher show to go to next Sunday at ilsington, which is on the southern side of Dartmoor, and I think one the following week closer to Plymouth, then that's it until the spring...

Well done. ANy pictures?

Forgot the camera! http://www.imagicam.co.uk/albums/view.php This link takes you to Farlap photography, look on Tiverton Foxhounds Show, the second page, and Finns first photo is the second one down (and about the ten following too!). I can't remember how he did at that show, but I think he won his class again. At the moment he is curled up asleep, wearing his nice new Mark Todd dog coat to keep warm and toasty!

Took my doggie to a novelty dog show & open day at the rescue place we got him from. He won best cross breed, best rescue dog, the dog the judge would like to take home and Champion of the best dog at show. I am very proud mummy and he won two months supply of dog food plus more.

Dandelion, of course it counts, it's all a bit of fun and it's lovely to get the dogs out and about, and to come home with a few rosettes.

Jennypenny, sounds like your dog was a big hit with the judge, how lovely, it does make you very proud.

We took my husbands old Springer to a dog show when he was about 14, he had never been to a show before, we just did it for fun. He won the veteran and the KC reg sporting, and was then Reserve Best in Show, but was so supremely bored he wouldn't even stand for his rosettes, just lay down and went back to sleep!

Well done Spot The Risk and Finn - you must be pleased as punch
