Show schedules at the chip shop

Is ours the only fish and chip shop that has horse show schedules on the counter?

Or is it a regular thing?

OMG, very lucky you! My way to get a show schedule is to ring the secretary on Sunday evening when the closing date is Wednesday, and fortunately my entries do arrive on time!

We have show schedules on the counter at the butchers shop, and the fruit and veg shop

Mine has adverts for DIY livery on the wall, not that I go there that often!

Ah I see, no no polish people, just solid (some very lol) Yorkshire folk. It is also a place where horses are talked about all the time! The woman who runs it keeps ponies and shows in hand, the queue is usually made up of weather beaten folk in ratty clothes and wellies.

It is a source of gossip and advice swapping.

Round here all the job adds in the agency windows are in Polish and ASDA has food signs in English and Polish

Nothing personal against the Polish but it is getting ridiculous here at the moment.
