Show us your travel gear!!

I do believe this is the choice of nearly every single transporter in this country. Which I don't happen to think is a coincidence frankly. Certainly every TB we shipped abroad (including one to Dubai) went without boots at the request of the transport company anyway

My heart always sank when i pulled up to see "mummy's little darling" trussed up like a xmas turkey. Always made for a very long day

Because you're not making a solid, defensible argument. You can't use fiction to support your theory any more than I can balance an argument on believing Harry Potter to be factual..

no its not real but what is real is the accident i saw in the newforest of a horse rearing in its trailer hitting the bar dropped to the floor of the trailer fitting vet was called PTS It was my cousins horse

RIP tarquin :(

But, and this is the crucial factor - can you be sure that the same thing will not happen to a horse with half an inch of padding applied to its head? This is the bit I doubt.

so where is the evidence it would have survived because it was wearing protective gear?

Does your Cousin have an similar incident to compare?

I'm really boring and everything is black, Mark Todd boots and tail guard, I travel them naked or if cold then a black Thermatex rug.
When i took the yearling out last month - I used black bandages and pads.

I should point out she's never actually travelled in that. None of mine are shod so the only times they were boots is if they're travelling with a shod horse.

*sneaking past the discussion earlier*

One of mine wears the lot, boots, poll guard, head collar and fleece.

The other had a fleece and padded head collar with bandages as she will not tolerate boots or a poll guard.

He does travel with a tail guard and a rug depending on the weather, i have 3to choose from, a rambo cooler, a thin Amigo fleece and a Thermatex.
I have no prob with boots but mine just isnt that keen on loading with them on so i tend to chuck the back ones on once he is up. He is a hot horse so i do find he gets hot legs but he can also clumsy so im playing about on find the best thing to travel him in.
