I'm getting a bit creative here. Perhaps too creative!

Maybe it's just me, but I do like a PROPER flushing loo and a decent shower - both of which are hard to squeeze into a 7.5T id you are going to make weight.

But us oldies can tow a 750kg trailer as well...

So, why not make one into a seperate mobile washroom for trips away?

Bit mad, but what do people think?

My 7.5 tons has a loo area with porta loo that does me fine . Maybe American trailers will

How about a 750 kg MPTLM caravan ?

Whole point is that 750kg caravans will have caravan style bogs and showers.....vile.

Have no problem sleeping in a hammock (or indeed on straw) in an unused partition, but I do like my comfortable ablutions!

This would hopefully allow a proper (high end) marine style flushing loo and a decent shower...

ETA To be a bit basic, a tree is fine (even ideal) for leg-cocking, but........

I love that Bijou model, lol
there a two seats facing each other[wow] and a roof that lifts [max!!!!!headroom 1.85m] not sure about height restrictions, perhaps anyone over 5'8" sleeps with feet out of the window? Its the least expensive of the range lol.
Strip it out and make it in to a wet room with bidet and loo, alternatively pop a portaaloo on a trailer and take it with you for private use only.

Not for me thanks! So you load horse, then hitch up loo/shower thingummy? Arrive - unhitch and secure loo/shower; unload horse etc. etc.

Bloody stupid idea if you ask me - my loo and shower in 7.5t are perfectly fine. If you want luxury bathroom buy an HGV!

There are a couple of people in this neck of the woods that tow a horse trailer behind a fairly big camper van. Looks like a nice set-up, from what I have seen.

They keep all the stinky horse stuff in a massive cupboard at the back of the van.

Would give you the options you want?

I understand that one of the well known female SJs, a few years ago, had a big HGV, she also prized a nice bathroom, and had an actual BATH in there for a long soak at the end of the day.

Not sure that would fit in a 7.5, but that would be an idea for your trailer! I also like the idea of smelly storage at the rear, so your living will be nice and fresh.

That SJ sounds like a girl after my own heart.....

Not sure I'm that worried about the fresh living...I LIKE horsey smells!

Trailer behind campervan would be a fail for me on horse comfort and safety grounds...

I might work this up and post some sketches if I have time.

.

Ah, yes! Just need a giant tub trug, it wouldn't add much weight then. 150 litres tub trug anyone?

the whole point with a mobile toilet and shower system is that at some point the toilet will have to be emptied...the caravans have blue fluid you put into them to dissolve tissue and poo, but its a general rule that no one ever poos in a caravan bog. They also have containers to collect the "grey water" although most of the time we just allow the water to drain away from the shower and sinks. The toilet issue is the main one, as far as i can see unless there are places you can fit drainage to the toilet then someone is allways going to have the unsavoury task of emptying a toilet resevoir... no matter what it looks or sounds like.

Every showground I have ever been to has toilet and shower faciliites - you might need to wear flip flops in the shower but personally I would prefer that to wasted room in my lorry.

I have to say, emptying the toilet does not bother me hugely.

At home I lift the hatch to the Cess Pit, and in it goes. I don't have to look at it! As long as enough Blue has been used, and it is not ancient, then it is pretty smell free.

At work the boxes had to be emptied into a toilet. Even that was not so bad, the tank wheeled there, was opened and emptied, and the toilet flushed. Maybe flushed 2 or three times ;)

The only problem would be if some dirty so and so had put it back with no Blue in. Then it would come out fizzy and reeky! This would (hopefully) not happen with a private box!

I don't have a lorry but if I had one I would probably go for a full size dry toilet with wood shavings instead of water. Light to transport, shavings easy to source, environmentally friendly, can be chucked with the muck heap and I am guessing no smell if you use a good helping of shavings before and after.
