Hi. I am going to a really local show this weekends do the veteran class. I am expecting to come last ! But don't want to look a total numptie. My horse is a 16.3hh warmblood, with a hogged mane and was going to plait his tail. Should he have a totally plain bridle? ie no coloured broadband and is it alright to have a dark coloured numnah. I have a tweed jacket and black boots. I've never been to a show before so have no idea what is right or wrong. He isn't really a hunter or riding horse type so don't know how he should be presented. Thanks

My wb is shown as a hunter type so plain flat browband/noseband, plaited up.
no numnah would be preferable but otherwise it should be discreet :)

do you have a pic? that might help decide which category he would fall under

to give you an idea, this is mine all dressed up:

i used a numnah under my saddle because the panels are serge and it attracts loads of hair

Ok thanks. I don't have a photo that i can post sadly - he is lighter than your horse - a bit ganglier. Doesn't really look like hunter but probably is best to aim for that look!

If hes got a hogged mane, i would show with a plain hunter type bridle. I wouldnt plait his tail though it would be better to pull it.
