showing a young tb

Im hoping to show my young Tb this summer, its all new to me so i just want the experience and ive been having a look at previous threads and been doing my homework, but im only finding things on native ponies etc, so can anyone give me any tips please?? for my Tb and me?? anything would be greatly appreciated :)
 
Hi, no idea where you're based at, but if you're close enough to come to Newmarket then we have two in-hand shows (one in July and one in August) which has 2 showing rings and one of them is dedicated purely to TBs - whether raced or not, and from foals through to veterans. Expert Panel judges and lots and lots to win. We had our first TB champion go on to be RoR Champion under the guidance of Sue Rawding who was one of our judges that particular year.

We've got 16 classes for TBs to compete in, so sure to be something for yours. It's a very friendly old fashioned showing show - and everyone is guaranteed to go home with something - Tattersalls are sponsoring the TB ring in July and every entrant will get a commemorative rosette from them on entry.

Schedules should be out hopefully next week once I've finalised one sponsors name, so if you want to come, contact me and I'll get one emailed out. Otherwise the schedules will be on Horsedates for you to download.

If you've got another horse or pony you want to bring - that won't be left out - as we have another ring for All Other Breeds. Again, lots to win in that ring too.

If you want any tips at all, feel free to ask. We've been breeding TBs ourselves both for racing and showing and have had national and county success with them as youngsters before they race, and then after they race too.

Both shows are held at the Animal Health Trust, so a very secure environment for your youngster to experience and with no riding allowed at all during the day, it should hopefully make it a safe and enjoying experience for everyone.

I did see you were in Scotland, but we actually had one visitor come over from Italy the first year we did the show, and came again the following year purely to compete. Booked herself in to B&B and found stabling for her horse and spent the week up on the gallops watching and did the Newmarket tours etc.
