Hi,

Ok so I have a registered Connemara and apart from being over height apparently he's a "good stamp" of a Conne.
He has his mane and tail relatively natural, he still has his slight conne feathers, whiskers, beard and ear hair (this has all been stressed to me that I MUST keep him like this to show him properly...). I thought I will give showing a go as i'd like to try as much as possible on Whisper and who knows, I might really love it.

SO the question is - there is a show in a months time and there are several options for classes I could enter him into but I don't know the difference between them, or what would be best.

There is -
-Show Hunter
- Working Hunter (this mentions being judged on Jumping, Ride, Conformation and style)
- Large Mountain & Moorland (says for over height M&Ms registered so fine for Whisp)

Help please!!! (and any other advice on what to wear/what horse should wear for class you think good is much appreciated!)

Thanks

I would do the large M and M and the workers. Whiskers and beard hair can be removed, we take ours D's off to help shape the head and give a better picture.

Ditto M&M and working hunter, he'd be dwarfed in a hunter class! Beards can be removed and ears etc. trimmed as long as you blend it in well and are discreet.

Hi, id just say M&M's if its a local show then maybe hunters, i dont know what size your horse is but he really needs to be at least 15.2hh for a hunter class. The show hunter class is for overgrown show ponies so that wouldn't be very suitable.
You need to plait for the hunter class so if you dont want to do that just do the m&m's.

Id say m&m and workers!!!
its well fun enjoy!

dress.... canary jods, black long boots, tweed jacket, pale yellow shirt, tie, navy hat with flesh straps or a beagler or something.......

Horse should be natural being a connie I think
