Hi all,

I'm wanting to show my Thoroughbred ex racehorse and obviously, he has to go in a plain cavesson to do this.

However, he opens his mouth to this bit quite a lot and I don't really know how I can address this?

He has his teeth done every 3 months and is ridden normally in a flash. He also has his back checked every 6-8 weeks due to him previously having KS which was operated on.

Any help is appreciated.

You really need a decent trainer/ instructor involved, a change of bit may help but it is really a training issue that needs someone with you to help rather than a forum where we can suggest numerous things but without seeing the horse and rider they can only be guesses as to what may help you with his schooling, shutting his mouth with a flash is avoiding a stage in his training so they will probably take you back to basics.
