Just a question about affiliated showing. My mare is passported with Sports horse breeding GB, is this classed as being registered with them or do i need to pay extra fees for this? And do they NEED to know the horses parentage. My mare doesnt have her parents in her passport. Although the breeder is fairly local so i could prob try and contact them. She is 9 now so they may not remember her haha!
Any info about affiliated showing is much appreciated!

Your horse will need to be on the show hunter register and you must be a member as well if anyone else rides for you at a show then they must be member of shbgb too.

When I took shadow- he had an overstamp in his passport with ShbGB - I wasn't a member but competed reg- its only if you get placed and go through to their championships I think you then have to become a memeber- I never bothered going to the follow-up shows- county level was stressful enough for me!

I believe the SHB(GB) do a day ticket option as well - which means you do not need to be registered. However, you cannot to qualifiers for HOYS and RIHS which knocks out quite a few shows.

Breeding is a nice to have - and if your horse does well, it is good to have the breeding in the catalogue. But if you don't know, then it will not stop you registering her.

Iv just had a look on there and you can get day tickets for three seperate shows at £12 a show. I might do that to start with as i dont really know if she will be any good haha! but you dont know untill you try!
