Help!!
I have a 10 month old colt that I would really like to get out and about showing but I have absolutely no idea what to do and where to start as I have never shown.
His breeding is showjumping AES X Hanoverian.
He is currently standing about 14.2hh but should make 15.3HH ish
He will be about a year old when he is castrated and I wondered what classes would be best.
What would I need to wear
How should he be turned out, should he have a bit ?
How do I behave in the show ring
Which way to stand and move in the ring
Im only really doing it to get him out and about and I really miss the social side of shows but unfortunately my show jumper is injured so this is my childfree hobby at the moment
Any advice would be greatly received
My dream would be to show him at Bramham but we will have to see.

The best way to find out what to do is to watch a few showing classes. I expect you will show him in youngstock classes, most local shows will have a mixed youngstock class, for his age-group, which would give you and him some experience. What would you want to show him as at Bramham?

Well sport horse or hunter youngstock classes would sound the place to start although he may come in a bit small. You may have to decide he will make small hunter etc ie not not to exceed 15.2hh. Or riding horse youngstock might suit depending on his type. Go and see some classes and observe. Where would he fit best? Once you have decided that, you can answer your other questions.
