Showing an older horse

Weight wise, he’s always pretty consistent. He doesn’t really have any muscle as he’s pretty much just a filed ornament. I’m not sure what the judges would think of that!
 
First and foremost he would need to be sound. Even in veteran classes lame horses won’t be placed.

after that its worth a try. Veteran showing is based less on conformation and more on condition for his age. Given he is 28 he looks good!
 
Go for it. If he is placed low, its perfectly acceptable after the class to ask the stewart if the Judge would mind giving feedback...if they say its because he looked unsound or anything like that you know not to enter again.
