i'm getting a bit ahead of myself and thinking about summer shows already !! (maybe i'm just wishing away the cold months!!) i'm just excited to use my new WH saddle and my new tweed which i only wore once last year - how sad.

What colour tie would look best do you think ?? i am going to buy a canary shirt, mine is more a diluted lemon colour and it looks a bit washed out (to be fair it was white and i dyed it in a hurry with a duster the night before a show!!)
i have been using a knackered old green tie. but alot of people seem to use red not sure what would look best with our brown theme we have going on

this was us at one of last shows of the season (please ignore the fact she is motorbiking along she was a tad excitable that day!!)

Janette is right - you need to have a shirt that hurts when you do the top button up! And a brighter tie would be great - sometimes you need to get the jacket to a stand (like Designer Browbands) and keep trying things with it until you find the right combination. It definitely needs something a lot brighter than you have at the moment.

How about a bright orange or something, sounds a bit eugh but I could imagine it working. You need something that will really stand out as everything goes to well lol but I could imagine a lot of colours clashing with your jacket like greens, reds, burgundys!?!

Get your shirt then we will go power shopping or raid my dads wardrobe!!

Burgandy - I think that wearing a red tie may influence the judges's psychology somehow that you are a winner - red rosettes and all that?!

ha just been planning shows for the spring with a mate- friends auntie is a judge and says a tie should be nice and tight and a bit in our face!!..my mate wears a yellow one on her chestnut but she does hack classes so its a blue jacket...I wear red and a nice shirt is a must..I bought a tight fitting cream sleeveless one from Cavello??clothing that was recommended on another showing forum-pricey but lovely fit and really comfortable! you both look very smart though..and yes i agree roll on the sunshine!!!

thanks everyone !! so the general consensus is a red - orange - burgundy colour !!

this is the shirt i think am going to get, Drummer above has one and it is brilliant - its more yellowy than it looks in pic

my friend is trying to get me to do the ridden hunter class at Ardingley Spring Show in April...brrrrr not sure showing should start that early..isnt it all about sitting around in the sun after a steaming tweed jacket wearing session!!!...have just booked a few flat clinics to get me in the swing and make Spring come quicker!!!!..sure will see you and Drummer out and about in the show season..drummer will be dazzling white as ever!!!

i have a lovely burgundy tie with gold diamonds from showing time to wath with canary jods and canary shirt!

I have a brown jacket for showing and I wear a goldy yellow shirt with a striking brown and orange or a brown and gold tie for hunters.

well im hunting my whp now so god knows how i will get her to calm down in time for showing. one judge last year did say she hasnt quite worked out the difference between hunting and showing has she?!
