Hi all

We are off to a show this weekend and there's one class that my friend was going to enter on my mare, it's

Class 5 Ridden Novice horse or pony- Riders any age, horse or pony not to have won 3x firsts in any open ridden class. Cantering in individual show only.

Now the girl whos entering is a good little rider (she's 13) but hasn't ever done any showing before so I suggested this class as a starter then she can do the others later on in the day.

But my mare is 16 years old now, she's been showing for the last couple of years but has only got 2 1st in the ridden classes - would she still be eligible to enter even though she's a lot older than most of the horses probably will be?

Yes, let her do it, together they are a novice combination, and as it's only a local show no one will mind how old the pony is, not that it matters anyway.
