Hello, I'm fairly ignorant about showing and was wondering if anyone could help me.
A skewbald cob x clydesdale who's 16hh - what showing class would you put him in at local level?

I a stuck, from research, between maxi cob classes, coloureds or heavy horses???

Also what is the correct tack and turnout for the class? (which is more the point, because we probably won't actually go to any shows for a while)

Thankyou

I've got a 16.1 hh clydie x cob and he does well in the following classes:

Ridden Hunter
Working Hunter
Riding Club Horse
Veteran - he's 22
Maxi Cob

He's done family horse as well, for a giggle we also did a handy pony class which he was surprisingly good at! Particularly the egg and spoon bit!

With yours being coloured, you can do all the coloured classes too.

Definitely need piccies.

Thank you for everyones help. What about his turnout? And this is the real question...what to do with all his hair! Between the white feathers, mane and tail he ends up spending most of his time in the yard with a hose on him.

for a giggle we also did a handy pony class which he was surprisingly good at! Particularly the egg and spoon bit!

I think he may well be handy pony material! It's a shame there aren't any 'friendliest horse' or 'most often makes strangers smile horse' classes because he would be very well in them.

I'd love to post pics, but I haven't got any. I'm riding him for a good friend, so I might email her and see if she has any pics :)

Im having the same worries at the moment lol. I have a pure bred Clydesdale and would LOVE to show him have no idea where to start
Yours sounds beautiful....would love to see pics *hint hint*

I'd love to have some pics too! I'm always on the horse and the owner take pics, so she's got them all!

I'm assuming with a pure bred he'd be heavy horses classes?? I don't know, I haven't done any showing for ages and then it was with little show ponies. How old is your clydie?
