Depends on alot of things really if the pony goes really well has really good movement and ring presence the colour won't matter so much, but you will always get judges that place what colour they like looking at unfortunately.

My friend's daughter had a 14.1 pba coloured blue and white but could pass as a very light roan, but she qualified for RIHS when she was 6 and got placed, and I've seen her in massive classes with general coloureds and she has won or come highly placed often being the one that stood out.

She did have amazing paces and just had a look at me quality but it seemed to work for her being the bit of an odd one out so to speak.

I’d second this.

Ultimately it does come down to the judge on the day, but coloured classes shouldn’t really be judged on colour, it’s more just a prerequisite for entering the class. At local shows you’ll probably find the judging a little unreliable, but at the top level colour really doesn’t come into play unless it markings highlight a conformation fault or really make a pony stand out on the go round.
